If you are a lover or writer of poetry you could find yourself loving this one…maybe even enough to write a poem about it. The poetry pinning experience is a lovely expression of putting words to experience and discovering the art of language in your surroundings. The idea starts by printing small greeting card size copies of your favorite poems: either your own or those of your favorite poets. Create a box or case for them and carry them with you wherever you wish to go. Take them with you along your normal routine or on a vacation where you will likely find yourself allured by the world around you.

As you travel about and you find a place or object that embodies the words of your poem, pin them with whatever adhesive or pinning device to the place it represents. Read the poem to yourself if you wish and leave it behind for another person to find with the words in place to match the experience.  Let the words you share bring a moment of pause and appreciation to another passing person.  If you feel inspired, blog your experiences, create a poetry pinning community, link people together in a chain of inspiration and poetry creation. Find new words to color moments and give back to the people around you.
